Gear Up for the March Madness Challenge Tip-Off |
|
|
Tip off for our 5th Annual March Madness Challenge is March 1st! Please get the word out in your church so that come tip off time, your church is prepared with receptacles (boxes) for the most popular teams. Food donations can also be bagged and labeled per team for some of the less popular teams that often hit the boards.
Please share with your congregation that food donations will count as a 2 point slam dunk per pound donated. However, monetary donations will count as a 3-pointer per dollar given. This is due to ECCCM being able to score more food per dollar with its nonprofit purchasing power. Please use the printable flyer (left) and the March Madness Info Sheet (above) to spread the word among your church members. Get the word out in your business or friend groups as well! Let's make this the biggest year ever, as our needs have grown with Hickory zip codes being added to our food pantry ministry.
It's time to get fired up to see which NCAA team fans have the most spirit and the biggest heart! The team who leads in points wins! Announcements will also be made for the organizations with the highest points! Tune in to ECCCM's Facebook page for announcements and score updates once the challenge begins! Food Pantry Needs |
|
February's food item of the month is canned or boxed pasta/pasta sauce/macaroni. Coming up in March, our usual "item of the month" suggestion will give way to our March Madness Food Challenge!
Our food pantry is currently in need of recycled grocery bags, gallon and quart size zipper style bags, and egg cartons.
We are looking for a volunteer box truck driver. Please share this need with your church members. This person would take the truck to local stores for pick ups. We also need additional door workers. These volunteers get the food together and take it out to the clients. Contact Allen Sherrill to schedule a time for your church group or individual members to come in. |

Thrift Store News & Needs |
|
February 20-24 our sale of the week will include 35% off all clothing! As your congregants do their spring cleaning, please remind them that we would love to have their gently used items! You can access the thrift store donations guidelines under the Find it Fast links. Feel free to share the list with your church.
We are in need of pants hangers if you have any to spare. Also, please continue to collect medium and large recycled shopping bags. for us. Thank you!
Have some time to volunteer? Morning and afternoon times are available. Check with your church groups, and please encourage folks to come and serve with us.
