Dear Habitat Community,
What a gift it is to be part of this mission with you! Together we are building homes, community, and hope, right here in the Fargo/Moorhead area. Over the last few weeks, I've been getting to know the amazing staff, board members, volunteers, and families who make our impact possible.
It has been an absolute delight to meet our future homeowners. I asked one of the kids what they were most excited about for their new house and his answer will stick with me forever:
"I'm going to have my own room, I'm not going to have to sleep on the floor, and I'm going to grow a garden with tomatoes and pumpkins!"
He then parked his Lego train in the dirt that will soon be his driveway. As I looked at that little boy's hopeful face, I knew I've landed somewhere special.
There is So Much Good happening at Habitat FM. I got to talk about it on the radio with Patrick Kirby last week. Tune in here - our segment begins at 39:15 with some commiserating about beagles!

Wall Raising Scheduled |
|
Habitat for Humanity FM's 2026 build season brings several First Nail and Wall Raising Ceremonies — and we're inviting you to our last of the year!
At 2:30PM on Friday, August 7, we will host a Wall Raising Ceremony for the Khamisa Saadella Family at 3115 30th St S in Moorhead, MN. The Saadella Home is our 35th Anniversary Build, and one of two we're constructing this year with volunteers. Khamisa is excited about her new home, and she's been busy this summer taking part in our homebuyer classes and logging sweat equity at the ReStore. Her optimism and gratitude have been infectious. When asked what this home will mean for Khamisa and her daughter, she highlighted the freedom to welcome her friends and community. When asked about the community of builders and supporters she's built at Habitat for Humanity FM, she is thankful: "You help people help people. You work together like a family." Please join us to celebrate our work and share in these life-changing moments for our 2026 homebuyers and their families. We also want to thank our generous lead sponsors on our 35th Anniversary Build: John Deere, TrueNorth Steel, and Border States. Their support builds Habitat for Humanity FM homes right here in our community. |

Want to Support Our Work? Donate to Women Build 2026 Today! |

Habitat for Humanity FM's Women Build program brings together thousands of men and women from the FM area for a months-long effort to build an affordable home in our community — and we want your help!
Though men are welcome and play a vital role in each Women Build, the program operates to directly engage local women in every aspect of our construction, particularly because many women still don't feel welcome on the construction site. Our 2026 Women Build fundraising committee is composed entirely of women, our 2026 Women Build homebuyer is a single mother of three currently living in substandard housing, and the hundreds of dedicated volunteers working on this project are all coming together to build with and for local women in our community.
