A Behind-the-Scenes Journey with Batsheva Dance Company
This summer has been an extraordinarily challenging time at Batsheva, and we are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support we have received from our community. With the help from donors across the globe, and particularly in our AFB community,we have nearly met the challenge grant and raised $300,000 to close the gap in Batsheva’s budget caused by the cancellation of tours this past summer. Your commitment has sustained the company and given strength to the dancers when it has been needed most.
I am thrilled to share an incredible opportunity to experience the heart of our work in a way few ever do. In December 2025, we are hosting an exclusive patron trip to witness the world premiere of a breathtaking new dance work by Ohad Naharin — and we would be honored to have you with us.
This carefully curated journey offers:
Attending the world premiere of Ohad's new work.
An opportunity to engage directly with Ohad over lunch.
Cultural experiences around Israel, including performances and private tours of museums, galleries, and local architecture.
Behind the scenes, intimate encounters with the dancers and departments at Batsheva to gain deep insight into our mission.
More than a trip, this is an invitation to step into the heart of our community and witness the power of dance to transform, connect, and inspire. Space is limited to ensure a personal and immersive experience.
We would love for you to join us for this unforgettable moment in the company’s history.
There is a definite whiff of autumn air in the afternoons, but the days are still very hot; this is our typical regional weather, signaling the end of summer and the approaching high holidays.
A new season is beginning at Batsheva. The dancers are gathering again in our small piazza and our own team has started the creative process for Ohad's new creation. This is always a very special moment for us, and it is happening now under harrowing circumstances, in a reality of inconceivable suffering for all here.
Still, there is lots to do. Many of us are active in the civil sphere and in various activist forums (many peace-seeking organizations in the Peace Coalition).
A lot is also happening in the company. Ohad's creation will premiere in Tel Aviv in December to eager audiences. The Ensemble will premiere a double-bill by two emerging choreographers from the vibrant local dance scene. Our school has entered its 6th year.
Finally, our arts campus is due to break ground at the end of the month, despite the expected hindrances. The entire area surrounding the site of the new campus is under major construction – the light rail, a sizeable development project surrounding the site, and municipal improvements of the public sphere. We are the important feature in this major urban rejuvenation scheme and there is a high-level of excitement across the board in the City's administration.
I am taking this opportunity to express our deep gratitude to each one of you for your support and backing, in spirit and in matter, during these hard times. Thank you for your generosity and concern, and for standing by us. Your solidarity is invaluable.
In prayer for the return of all hostages and the end of war.

Farewell Dancers!
At the end of last season, Batsheva said goodbye to four spectacular artists. After 14 remarkable years, Eri Nakamura took her final bow as a Company dancer. We also said goodbye to Company dancers Annika and Mermoz, and Ensemble dancer Victor. We thank them for their commitment and creativity throughout their time with Batsheva. Click below to see a short tribute to their work as Batsheva dancers.

Your Support Moves Us Forward
Your gift, no matter the size, helps sustain our work and ensures that we can continue fostering the Batsheva Dance Company’s artistic excellence. You can choose to designate your gift to one of our key initiatives or make a general contribution to the Annual Fund, providing vital support where it’s needed most.
Click here to watch your support in action. For two weeks each season, dancers from both companies are given the opportunity to step into the role of independent artists through the Batsheva Dancers Create initiative. The company supports them with dedicated time, studio space, professional mentorship, and funding to produce and promote their own work. This is a rare opportunity for the dancers to learn what it takes to produce a piece from start to finish.
