Jane - because of you, we are able to provide free job training for women who are unemployed, under-employed or re-entering the workforce after time away. Thank you!

God is blessing in so many ways. Surely goodness and mercy are chasing us down and we are often found breathless.
While we focus on job skills in our core curriculum, our day class has Money Mondays and last week's topic was "The Power of a Side Hustle."
Within 7 days, three of our students had created $200+ each from their ideas. This may not seem like much, but learning to create cash gives us options and helps us find a little hope in hard places. I think their smiles are pretty evident of how they're feeling!
This is in addition to the job applications happening, the skills they're developing and their upcoming resumes.

Studies estimate that adding a GED and/or specialized certifications increase women's earning potential by $10,000-$15,000 per year of their earning life. So, if you hear us talking about credential-stacking, that's what we mean!
To test the concept, Monday we started Day students on their self-paced certifications using Canva, a design course. Kelli earned hers first (working through lunch) and now more than half the class has theirs! I cannot wait until Graduation for you to see 'their stacks.'
Stay tuned for ESL, GED, AI and other certifications we will be offering. Exciting times ahead!

NOTES from the Executive Director
|
We have been profoundly impacted by the life of Cindy Lewis Dake, founding volunteer, lifelong donor and champion of CWJC. This month we had the opportunity to celebrate her life together. Thank you for your generous contributions in her memory.
The Lewis & Dake families have been on campus to present each student with a beautiful Bible purchased and chosen by Cindy. Being able to have these families encourage students and communicate Cindy's and God's love for them has been such a gift.
From a student text this week "I want to say thank you for spending time with me today. You made me feel loved. Tonight is the first night in over a week where I feel calm. Thank you very much for caring."
Students are feeling seen.
They are feeling heard.
They are learning scripture.
They are applying to jobs and they are creating businesses.
None of this would be possible without your continued monthly donations, volunteerism, prayers and sharing in the community.
With Gratitude,
Carrie Wilkerson
