Dear St. Peter's Kitchen Family,

This Thanksgiving, we find ourselves reflecting deeply on gratitude—for community, for care, and for the many ways you show up for neighbors in need.

In the past few weeks, local headlines have painted a sobering picture. As SNAP benefits face lapses, nearly 1 in 7 Monroe County residents lost access to critical food assistance, many of them members of vulnerable populations like children and seniors. At St. Peter’s Kitchen, we saw the impact firsthand: longer pantry lines, more first-time visitors, and growing uncertainty.

We have been spreading the word about the impacts that federal decisions have on local food insecurity:

  • Rochester First

  • 13WHAM

  • WHEC

  • 13WHAM

Even as the need grows, our resolve grows with it.

Every day we prepare almost 400 hot meals, Monday through Saturday, 20% more than we have provided previously. We’ve expanded our pantry hours, welcoming anyone who comes through our doors, and are ensuring that every person is served with warmth and dignity, no matter how long the line is.

Last week, we prepared 160 holiday baskets for families, seniors, and individuals who might otherwise go without.
On behalf of every staff member, volunteer, and guest we serve, I want to thank you for being part of the St. Peter’s Kitchen family. Your kindness and support makes it possible for us to meet the moment, again and again.

Wishing you a Thanksgiving filled with love, rest, and gratitude.

With warmth and thanks,

Bob Boyd
