College & Career Pathways Expand with Support from SLED
The team at San Leandro High is busy recruiting local partners to create internship opportunities for students - with a BIG assist from SLED as we fund stipends to make the important career-related and trade training experiences available to more students.
John Muir Middle School used SLED field trip funds to send the entire 7th grade class on college visits - an inspiring experience that gets students focused on the path to college early.
And we are working on a summer program with Cal State East Bay - details on that coming soon!
SLED wants to do all we can to support these college and career pathways - it is so essential to open the world of possibilities to all of our students! |

BIG Changes for SLED's BIG Fundraiser Are Here!
Instead of our usual fall gala, we are shaking things up in 2024, and it's going to be a blast!
First up, on April 26, we're kicking off the festivities with a fantastically fun Friday evening fundraising dinner at the breathtaking Dunsmuir Hellman Historic Estate.
Next, on April 27, we're rolling out our First Annual SLED Cornhole Tournament, and you're invited! It's a chance for the whole community to come together for some friendly competition, all in the name of a good cause.

SLED Continues to Support Outdoor Education
Though our wonderful district has funds for Outdoor Ed trips, some school sites don't have the transportation resources available and need buses. And guess what? They are expensive!
SLED supports with field trip funds and of course the ever-popular Outdoor Ed t-shirts to ensure that all students have the chance to go on these memorable learning journeys! |
