It's easy to be inspired when you get updates from teachers and staff and pictures of adorable kids enjoying the benefits of community support!
This month, we've heard updates about Mini-Grants that funded a chess club, a cooking and cultural project, and how science festivals ignite student imagination and understanding. We got updates about field trips that combine arts enrichment AND science learning. Our ED got to read a favorite book ('When It's Six O'Clock in San Francisco' by Cynthia Jaynes Omololu) to students at Monroe and Madison Elementary schools, PLUS accompany high schoolers in need on a trip to make their prom wishes come true thanks to our Removing Barriers program and the amazing district partners and parent facilitators who help make it happen.
We also launched our Countdown to College info series in partnership with the San Leandro Public Library and SLUSD to bring meaningful actionable steps to high schoolers (and in April, middle schoolers) to plan their path to college.
There are so many ways to bolster education experiences, and SLED does our best to provide as much as we can - with YOUR help and generosity!
