Spring is in the Air!

You can still grab your tickets to our Spring Fling through Wednesday, March 19 -  no tickets will be sold at the door!

This year you'll hear from students about how YOUR support has impacted them while enjoying a cocktail creation from Paradiso Restaurant, food from our own district food services - the best caterer around! - and of course the company of fellow community members who care deeply about education.

Even if you can't attend, you can purchase raffle tickets for a 1 in 125 chance of winning a 7-night trip to Mexico, OR you can bid online for one of our fantastic trips in our silent auction (online bidding ends Thursday night).

You won't want to miss it, so get your tickets today before they sell out.

It's easy to be inspired when you get updates from teachers and staff and pictures of adorable kids enjoying the benefits of community support!

This month, we've heard updates about Mini-Grants that funded a chess club, a cooking and cultural project, and how science festivals ignite student imagination and understanding. We got updates about field trips that combine arts enrichment AND science learning. Our ED got to read a favorite book ('When It's Six O'Clock in San Francisco' by Cynthia Jaynes Omololu) to students at Monroe and Madison Elementary schools, PLUS accompany high schoolers in need on a trip to make their prom wishes come true thanks to our Removing Barriers program and the amazing district partners and parent facilitators who help make it happen.

We also launched our Countdown to College info series in partnership with the San Leandro Public Library and SLUSD to bring meaningful actionable steps to high schoolers (and in April, middle schoolers) to plan their path to college.

There are so many ways to bolster education experiences, and SLED does our best to provide as much as we can - with YOUR help and generosity!

Three more high-school focused Countdown to College events are coming this March and April - register in advance to save your spot today!

Covering valuable information about scholarships, learning what you can be doing NOW to prepare for college applications, information about how to afford college, and so much more - all from expert presenters.

This is FREE information that can help even those who aren't sure if college is the path for them. Every student should have choices and options!

Middle school sessions coming in April . . .
