The holiday cheer is in the air, and a new year approaches. As always, SLED remains dedicated to providing San Leandro students with a gift that never expires - learning, inspiration, and community support are the longest lasting gifts we can give!
Our school district has been incredibly clever with their budgeting and funding, making it last and stretch as far as possible. But we know that uncertainty surrounds public education as we approach 2025.
So far this school year, SLED programs have been utilized more than ever - already we have received over 70 applications for mini-grants and field trips, plus we are getting additional requests from administrators and teachers for new programs like school garden support and curriculum, more college trips and resources, and more bus access for field trip transportation. It is clear that the need for enrichment and active learning opportunities is urgent and appreciated.
We know we can help even more students to learn and grow, and with your help, we can continue to plant the seeds of learning together and the reward of seeing students' successes will be a gift to us all.
