SLED Mini-Grants are making a difference at our schools!
At the beginning of the 2023-24 school year, we introduced a new way to apply for Teacher Mini-Grants and Field Trips with Google forms, and we have a RECORD number of applications at 87 so far. This is such an efficient and meaningful way to get funds where they are needed - in the classrooms!
Teachers are making requests for such a huge variety of projects and field trips. From engaging projects requiring paint and art supplies, to comprehensive field trips like the Marine Science Voyage, to sets of books to inspire relatable reading, to whole grade level trips to Cal State East Bay.
Every hands-on learning experience makes a BIG impression on students, and the more we can fund the better! |

We are matching donations up to $2,500 in honor of SLED's own family members' generosity in 2023!
It's inspiring when SLED receives donations from those outside of San Leandro. Education support really is important to everyone.
Every gift counts towards the match so we can hopefully start 2024 off with $5,000 that can fund buses for field trips, summer internships, or even more classroom mini-grants.

2024 is going to be BIG at SLED!
As always, we are working on even more ideas for funding programs and education opportunities.
Plus, we are planning fun shifts to our events and fundraising with a 2-event, 2-day Spring Fling on April 26 & 27. We can't wait to share all of these exciting plans and developments throughout the year.
