In case you missed it, we were recently fortunate enough to have received a brand-new refrigerated van through Whole Foods Market's Nourishing Our Neighborhoods program!
This game-changing addition to our vehicle fleet will bolster our robust food distribution program and broaden our capacity for future expansion of our fight against food insecurity in West Baltimore. Currently, we support five weekly food distributions across four different Baltimore City sites!
|
Here's why:
Our mission is rooted in dismantling inequity. In West Baltimore, residents face systemic barriers to housing, employment, healthcare, and—perhaps most critically—access to fresh, nutritious food.
Reservoir Hill has no grocery stores, and its residents are physically cut off by major thoroughfares that range from pedestrian-unfriendly to downright dangerous. For the 35.1% of households without access to a vehicle, getting groceries isn’t just inconvenient—it’s a major challenge.
|
Access to groceries is one thing; affordability of food is another.
|
Anchored by the grocery items rescued from Whole Foods Market and our partners at So What Else, our distributions are powered by dedicated volunteers. From agency groups to individual volunteers, we count on them to provide these deliveries through rain, snow or shine.
Thanks to their support, we were able distribute 99,571 pounds of groceries to residents of Reservoir Hill and beyond in 2024, with that number set to increase in 2025!
|
Our food justice initiatives are just one of the many programs that you can support with the purchase of a ticket to our Homecoming Celebration on April 26th!
Food has a unique way of bringing people together and fostering connection. That's why we're SO appreciative of local businesses like Keyvin's Kitchen and Little Havana who have graciously agreed to donate a portion of their services to our Homecoming Celebration!
|
Their support not only fuels our mission but also allows us to celebrate the incredible flavors that make Baltimore special. Stay tuned as we announce more local vendors who will be a part of our "food hall" dinner at Homecoming—and don’t forget to grab your tickets! 🎉

We hope to see you next month!
