Good morning,

The time has come again to announce the start of our annual Giving Tree Campaign!

Each year, our Giving Tree Campaign connects generous individuals like you with families from our Power Project and Igniter Internship programs to help fulfill their holiday wish lists. This support is critical in easing the burden of the rising holiday costs, ensuring our program families can experience the joy of the season.

Due to widespread external program and budget cuts in our community, many families have fewer options for out-of-school-time opportunities for their children. SFNC has responded to this with the expansion of enrollment in our Power Project. While we are proud to welcome more students into our program, the increase also means there will be a greater need for support offered through initiatives like the Giving Tree. With your continued generosity, we can meet this growing need together.

Participating donors will be matched with a family who has students actively participating in one of our afterschool programs. The family's wish lists will be shared with the donor, which should give more details around what is needed and "wished for" from each household member. We ask that from this list, 3-5 items are purchased for each member of the family. These items range from small to large and can be anything from a new toy to a necessary household item. This year's campaign will run as follows;

  • October 31st-November 14th: Donors are contacted to receive all information regarding their wish list match

  • November 14th-28th: Donors acquire items from wish lists to the best of their ability, for each member of the given household

  • December 1st-12th: Donors drop off all GT items at St. Francis Neighborhood Center, wrapped, and labeled with each recipient's name

  • December 15th-18th: SFNC staff distribute items to program families
