Nonpartisan Civic Engagement for Health Professionals
|
Vot-ER is bridging a gap in care with a groundbreaking prescription: civic engagement. Their mission is to empower patients and healthcare professionals to address the root causes of health disparities through civic participation.
This month we are highlighting their July 25 6-7pm ET event:
Vote-ER Basics: How to register voters using your badge
Calling all health professionals! Join Vot-ER to learn the step-by-step of how to talk with patients and colleagues about voter registration, answer hard questions, and ultimately set your patients and colleagues up to build a habit of civic engagement. Experience how Vot-ER’s nonpartisan approach to connecting with patients about voting can help them turn out to vote in community with other health professionals. Come ready to practice your voting conversations! RSVP and join from a space where you can participate actively.
Recent research highlights the crucial role health professionals play in promoting civic participation. The article titled "Increasing Voter Participation Through Health Care–Based Voter Registration" published in the JAMA Health Forum, examines how health care settings can be utilized to boost voter registration and participation, especially among historically underrepresented populations.
