Thank you VFW Spectre Post 11367!

As a 501c3 organization, we rely on the support of the community to ensure that we are able to provide our therapeutic services with the horses. We are so grateful to the VFW Spectre Post 11367 for supporting Healing Hoof Steps at their February B-I-N-G-O night! We are honored for their support!

Dazzling Daughters Get Together

Even the storms didn’t stop the Choctawhatee Bay Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution from making it out for a Dazzling Daughters get together! Thank you to our staff, volunteers and Jack for making it happen!

Snow in Florida?!

While it was a shock to have snow in Florida, we made it through! Thanks to our amazing CEO/Founder, all 18 of our equines were blanketed with warm mash provided around the clock, every 6 hours! The equines weren't thrilled about the snow but all made it through, healthy as can be.

FPL Power to Care (below)

Thank you FPL!

Thanks to the hardworking linemen at Florida Power & Light, we now have irrigation to water our covered arena footing and additional secured wired fencing for one of our pastures!

These are the guys who get the lights back on and bring the power to your home. Next time you see them, wave and show them lots of love. They deserve it!

Goodbye to our original Therapeutic Riding buildings!

It is with a heavy but happy heart that we said farewell to our original Therapeutic Riding office! So many life-changing things have come through this building. Our hearts are SO FULL knowing that our good friends at Tiny Acres NWFL, Inc. will have an office of their own! If you don’t know what they do, please follow them and see the incredible work they do for so many horses in need. SUPPORT them in any way you can!! We ABSOLUTELY do!!

Shortly after our office was bought and hauled off, our original Therapeutic Riding tack building was bought and sold to PAWS (Panhandle Animal Welfare Shelter). We are BEYOND THRILLED to see our building go to another deserving nonprofit that serves animals in need in our community!

Volunteer Opportunities

We are currently looking for individuals who want to assist adults and children with disabilities, challenges, or limitations and would love to feel the joy our participants feel with a relationship with a horse. Join a great team of volunteers who truly give back to this community!

Volunteers typically engage 1-3 hours per week.

Spring days/hours are Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Fridays between 9am-5pm and Saturday mornings from 9am-1pm.

Horse experience is helpful but not required.

Please visit our website at www.healinghoofsteps.org/volunteering to review our volunteer handbook and complete an application. A background check is required.
