🎨 OREGON REMEMBERS - October 22–24, 2026
|
This October, Central Oregon Veterans Ranch will host the inaugural Oregon Remembers: a three-day gathering created to honor those we have lost, bring our community together and connect veterans and their families with meaningful resources and support.
Throughout the event, visitors will have the opportunity to experience a memorial, and more, honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Our vision is for Oregon Remembers to become an annual community tradition.
We are currently seeking:
• Founding sponsors who want to help establish and grow this meaningful community event • Planning volunteers who can help us bring the many pieces together in the coming months • Event volunteers to assist throughout October 22–24 • Veteran-serving organizations interested in participating in the resource fair
Founding sponsors will do more than support one event. They will help create the foundation for an annual Central Oregon tradition centered on remembrance, education, connection and service.

🥪 A WONDERFUL RESPONSE FROM OUR LUNCH VOLUNTEERS
|
Yesterday, we shared that we needed help filling some open dates on our Thursday lunch calendar, and our community responded.
Thanks to six generous volunteers stepping forward, the next month of lunches is now completely covered, with additional dates filled over the following months. We are deeply grateful to everyone who signed up!
Each Thursday, volunteers provide lunch for approximately 15 people and deliver it to the Ranch by 11:30 a.m. These shared meals are about much more than food. They create a consistent welcoming place for veterans to gather, connect, and experience community.
We would love to keep this momentum going and fill the calendar even further ahead. Individuals, families, businesses, service clubs and groups are all welcome to participate. Because of you, our veteran community can count on this weekly ritual and that means more than you know.

🦌 GROWING AT THE RANCH—AND SHARING WITH THE DEER
|
The Ranch garden is looking beautiful and producing plenty of growth this summer. Unfortunately, the local deer have noticed, too.
They have already helped themselves to some of our berries and squash, and our pumpkins may be next on the menu. We are moving quickly to purchase and install additional fencing to protect what remains.
Life on the Ranch frequently reminds us that growing food requires patience, adaptability, and occasionally the ability to outsmart some very determined wildlife.
|
The berry bushes got a haircut! They decimated the strawberries too, but we've since protected them, and they are bouncing back!
|
We are deeply grateful to Karen Anderson for sponsoring our new shed! We're still working on getting the right one and can't wait to share updates and photos.
|
A heartfelt thank you to all of our volunteers who stepped up to help keep the hydro and Victory Gardens running while Orion was on his 6-week sabbatical. He had a great time and is back at the Ranch!
|
A big thank you to Nothing Bundt Cakes and Donna Moe for providing pastries for our August First Tuesday gathering. Her generosity helped make the morning feel warm, welcoming, and well-fed, and we’re grateful for her support of the Ranch community.

Sponsorship Opportunities

🏡 Cabin Buildout Support Needed
|
We could use some support to help us finish out our cabin outpost buildout. This project is an important part of strengthening the Ranch’s infrastructure and expanding what is possible here, especially during wintertime!
We are currently researching metal walls and ceiling, and some sort of LVP flooring, as well as a mini-split set up.
If you’d like to support or learn more about this sponsorship opportunity, click here to reach us.
