In September we worked with NPS to install a new bike rack and bench at the Peter B. Webster III Memorial Area. This is in addition to the new frostless water fountain and interpretive sign which NPS installed in August.

Maddy Sleeter, Youth Volunteer Leader, is leading a Youth Trash Cleanup this Saturday at Belle Haven Park. This is our first youth-led event.

Anyone can attend! Come support Maddy and help make the trail trash free.

Invasive Kudzu Removal on the Mount Vernon Trail!

We've had a busy month! We hosted a cyanotype art class, filmed a Bike to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) via the Mount Vernon Trail video for YouTube, hosted 131 volunteers over 5 volunteer events, tabled at 5 community events, hosted a nature walk for a IDA employees, and presented at the NPS Capital Region Partner Summit. We were also honored to have a call with U.S. Representative Don Beyer who congratulated us for winning the NPS 2023 Excellence in Volunteerism Team Impact Award.

We are 153 volunteers short of surpassing the total volunteer count from 2023. Help us beat last year’s record! Register to attend an upcoming event.
