Friends of the Mount Vernon Trail have won the National Park Service Impact Award: Team Category in the NPS’ Excellence in Volunteerism Awards. The Excellence in Volunteerism Awards are given annually to National Park Service volunteers who demonstrate exceptional dedication to their park and community. The recipients embody the values of service, engagement, and stewardship fundamental to our national parks.

Volunteer leaders will be attending an award ceremony August 21st at the Department of the Interior.

In May we won the Rosslyn Business Improvement District Community Impact Award. This award is in honor of our work to improve the Mount Vernon Trail which is an important gateway to Rosslyn.

We also were awarded a Bunch Bike as part of the Bunch Bike Grassroots Giveaway contest. This bike will be added to our fleet of cargo bikes to bring tools to events and also be part of education and outreach in the community.
