Water Fountain Fundraiser

The Friends of the Mount Vernon Trail are partnering with the George Washington Memorial Parkway to bring new water fountains to the trail and we need your help.

The current water fountains have reached their end of life and experience frequent outages. The new water fountains will be frost resistant to provide year round water on the trail and will include a water bottle filler, two side fountains and a dog bowl fountain. Your donation will help bring a big improvement to the trail!

All donations are currently being matched up to $2,500 thanks to the DC Road Runners and an MVT super supporter.

A total of 12 fountains were in need of replacement. The fountain at the Old Stone Bridge was funded and replaced in Fall 2024. FoMVT helped secure a $475,000 grant from the National Park Foundation and raised an additional $89,420 in donations to fund 8 more fountains. Three fountains are currently unfunded. Your donation can help replace the last three fountains.

Check out the picture of the first replacement at Old Stone Bridge below and donate today! Learn more about the project at https://mountvernontrail.org/fountains/

We’re looking for additional individuals, businesses and organizations to offer challenge matches. Recognition opportunities are available. Reach out at hello@mountvernontrail.org if you’re interested.
