With top videos like Resume and CV Tips, College is for Everyone, and Powerful Mindfulness, as well as some of our most-read articles with practical wisdom such as, "Your First Apartment", "Fight, Flight, and Freeze: Your Brainâs Survival Mechanisms", and even "Getting Gas: A Beginnerâs Guide", are all guides that are equipping young adults with the tools they need to navigate this new chapter with confidence. Foster Youth Resource Concierge: A Booming Success!
Our Foster Youth Resource Concierge program is making waves, empowering young adults as they transition to adulthood and achieve their personal goals. Our Concierge has conducted 42 visitsâ25 in person and 17 virtually. We are meeting these incredible young people where they are and providing the resources and support they need. We've supplied personal items, computers, shoes, baby needs and items for setting up an apartment. With our 12 active clients and 9 new referrals this period, these numbers represent ACTUAL advocacy that Speak Up for Kids is providing as we touch ACTUAL lives and help them step confidently out into their future.Â
Letâs celebrate one of our incredible FYRC youth, for her amazing achievements.Â
As she approached 18, she faced some big life changes, but she tackled them all with determination and grace. With the support of the FYRC program, she secured a spot in a transitional living program, creating a stable foundation for her next chapter. Moving into her new place was more than just a housing milestone, it was a step toward the independence sheâs been working so hard to achieve. Whatâs even more impressive? While transitioning into her new living situation, she stayed fully engaged in her college courses. Balancing school and a major life change isnât easy, but she has shown incredible focus and resilience. Sheâs keeping her eyes on her long-term goal of earning her degree and building the future she envisions. This young ladyâs story is a reminder of whatâs possible with the right support, resources, and a whole lot of perseverance. We couldnât be prouder of all sheâs accomplished and canât wait to see what sheâll do next!
We are so grateful to both our chapters and individual student volunteers for all that they do. Keep up the great work, students!
