Happy New Year from Moorhead Legacy Education Foundation!

We are continually reminded of the generosity within our community. YOU have had a powerful impact through your generosity. YOU have helped provide for those in need.

We are grateful to you for supporting the mission of MLEF, and we look forward to the year ahead working together for the betterment of our Spud Community.

Sincerely,

The MLEF Board of Directors, District Representatives and Staff

February's Giving Hearts Day : In 2024, MLEF's Giving Hearts Day donations along with donors' Food For Thought designations enabled us to provide $25,000 to the the school district for milk and snack funding for elementary students who would otherwise go without. A special thank you goes to ZerrBerg Architects and Gehrtz Construction for designating match donations to MLEF in their Polar Plunge/GHD competition. To become a GHD match donor or business match in 2025, contact us at MoorheadLegacyFoundation@gmail.com

March Phonathon success : Each spring, MHS students make phone calls to secure donor pledges for Spud Scholars. With the help of Phonathon gifts and pledges, and other scholarships funded by donors and community partners, MLEF awarded $95,000 to 84 graduates and 4 MHS Alumni who are pursuing and furthering their education in 2024-25. The next Phonathon will begin in March 2025. A special thank you to the students in Key Club, Student Council and National Honor Society for volunteering their time toward our Spud Scholars program!

Partnership with SpudsTV : Our Big Orange and Spuddy Club Sponsors are included in the MAPS district calendar, have logo visibility on SpudsTV broadcasts, and are invited to exclusive pregame Club events. Thank you to the 25 sponsors that have kicked off our 2024-25 school year with their support! For more info on sponsorship opportunities, visit our website or email MoorheadLegacyFoundation@gmail.com .

As the demolition of the old high school building continued last spring, Phase II of the new Moorhead High School began. There are a limited number of bricks reserved from demolition. You can own a piece of MHS history by donating $100: limited to 100 bricks to raise $10,000. Donation link located here: https://ddock.co/R99A1B16YB
Be a "Brick Builder" for the future of our Moorhead Spuds!

Revamp of the 152Club Membership : We now offer an activity pass to 152Club members, which grants each pass holder a free popcorn at any regular season home sporting event. Membership also includes a 152Club pin and an invite to our exclusive pregame Club events. You can still join the 152Club for the 2024-25 school year here: https://ddock.co/3f3c7ef4 , or text "152Club" to 218-215-4988.

Spud Giving Days : Did you see us with the SpudMobile at Homecoming? We hosted the 2nd Annual Spud Giving Days and handed out potato chips, candy and cheer sticks during the HoCo Parade and at Spud Alley. We reached our fundraising goal of $15K, thanks to donor match giving from Elite Therapeutic Massage & Health Partners, and a number of Spud families and alumni. Thank you to Frito Lay for donating potato chips and to 4imprint.org for the grant to fund our #GoSpuds cheer sticks.

November's Spud Impact : In 2024, with the help of memorials and designated gifts, MLEF awarded $10,750 in grant funding toward various projects and activities led by Moorhead staff this past fall, as well as basic needs. We provide grants and designated gifts to Moorhead Area Public Schools, educators and staff for the main areas of Academics, Activities, Arts and Athletics. MLEF also gave toward the district's school supply drive this past fall. We are grateful to Moorhead Schools' staff who are dedicated to supporting students in our schools in so many ways! Email us for information on our endowment to help fund our mission to support Moorhead Schools.

MLEF's Newest Initiative : PLANNED GIVING - What will your legacy be?
Include MLEF's mission in your estate planning with our Legacy Planned Giving Guide found on our website.
Every gift, large or small, helps sustain the tradition of educational excellence in Moorhead and will carry the school district to even greater heights. Thank you to The Extra for highlighting MLEF's mission this past fall. Email us to meet with a staff or board member to discuss options for designations that can benefit the foundation and Moorhead Schools.
