Your Giving Matters

Our Spud Community is better because of you, MLEF's donors and sponsors. Below, you'll find a report on the impact made possible for the students and staff of Moorhead Schools. We are grateful for your support!

Spud Impact Grants are awarded each Fall. These grants equip teachers and staff with funding for innovative projects and needs within the classroom and beyond. We are incredibly grateful for the Moorhead teachers and staff who invest in our students each and every day. This year's Spud Impact Grants totaled over $13,000.

MLEF gave $25,000 to the district for Food For Thought, helping to fund milk and snack for students. This support was made possible by our Giving Hearts Day donations.

Combatting Rising Truancy Rates: The Alex Stern Family Foundation's $10,000 impact grant support helped to upgrade van transportation for students experiencing homelessness and other attendance barriers.

Spud Scholarships are awarded each Spring. Moorhead's students were honored at the MHS Award Ceremony on April 24th. Thank you to MAPS staff and counselors that help coordinate the award process and special evening, and thank you to our special guests that helped hand out their named scholarships. MLEF awarded $95,000 in scholarships to 84 graduating seniors and 4 alumni pursuing higher education. This is possible thanks to our scholarship donors, endowments and our annual Phonathon. Thank you to all who ordered the Spud History Book, "Once A Spud... Always A Spud." It was a monumental project for the district's 150th Anniversary celebration. Orders have closed, and a few are still receiving their books from the publisher. We can coordinate a pickup time over the summer to accommodate those still missing their books. Annual 152Club membership benefits include an activity pass to all regular season home games, one (1) free popcorn at each sporting event, a commemorative pin, and an invite to three club events throughout the school year. For questions, contact us at MoorheadLegacyFoundation@gmail.com.  

Your sponsorship is an opportunity to make a significant impact on the educational experience of Moorhead's students and families. 

The Moorhead School district's calendar is delivered to over 7,000 households in August. Sponsorships start at $300 and the order form can be found here.
