Next Chapter: Meet Belle A New Voice in the Heart of Cedar Park
|
Belle, our 23-foot-tall story-loving songbird, welcomes you to the heart of
Cedar Park—where imagination takes flight.
|
If you’ve noticed a new name in your inbox — Belle@cedarparkbooks.org—you’ve already met the voice behind the next chapter of our story.
Belle is no ordinary bird.
She’s a 23-foot-tall northern mockingbird, proudly perched in the vibrant new playscape just outside the Cedar Park Public Library's front door. Surrounded by towering blooms of Texas Bluebonnet, Indian Blanket, and Winecup, Belle celebrates the natural beauty of our home state—and the joyful spirit of storytelling, song, and community.
She’s also your cheerful guide—bringing you the latest news from the Library Foundation and the Library itself, plus all the ways you can get involved and enjoy everything our community’s crown jewel has to offer.
Since 1927, the northern mockingbird has been the official state bird of Texas—a symbol of resilience, melody, and heart. Now Belle carries that legacy forward right here in Cedar Park. She’s more than a sculpture—she’s a guardian of imagination, a greeter of families, and a symbol of the library’s mission to inspire every generation.
And like every good story, Belle’s tale has more to discover. Tucked behind the library in the children’s courtyard, her baby chicks wait patiently for her return—a gentle reminder that curiosity is nurtured, wonder is shared, and every visit to the library is a new flight of discovery.
Belle reminds us that stories can soar—and that your support helps future generations do the same.
So next time you visit, come say hello. She—and all of us—are so glad you’re part of this story.

Look What We've Built Together
|
Celebrating excellence at your library—earned with heart, powered by community.
|
Hello again—it’s Belle here! And I have something wonderful to share with you.
Thanks to your support, our new Cedar Park Public Library isn’t just bigger—it’s making a bigger impact than ever before. We’re proud to share that the Library was recently honored with the 2024 Achievement of Library Excellence Award from the Texas Municipal Library Directors Association (TMLDA)—an award earned by fewer than 10% of libraries across Texas.
But what really tells the story? You do. Your visits, your curiosity, your support.
Here’s what we’ve accomplished together in just the first four months—November through February—since the new Library opened:
-
220,000 visitors
-
145,386 physical items checked out
-
7,100 new library cards issued
-
13,690 attendees at library events
-
2,625 study room reservations
-
36,826 questions answered at service desks
That’s an average 350% increase in overall library usage compared to our previous location—nearly triple the visitors, more than seven times the new members, and a whole new energy humming through every room.
From the very first storytime to the late-night study sessions, every moment inside the Library now tells a bigger story—about what happens when a community believes in access, imagination, and learning for all.
And I’ll be right outside the front doors, cheering you on.
Let’s keep soaring. —Belle
