🌟 Why They Chose to Serve

The Library doesn’t just grow on its own.

In its first year, the Cedar Park Public Library welcomed more than 650,000 visitors.

On any given day, hundreds—sometimes thousands of people walk through its doors—reading, learning, connecting, and finding a place that belongs to everyone.

Because when something becomes this important… it doesn’t sustain itself.

It grows because people choose to be part of it.

Here are just a few of the people who stepped in—and why it mattered enough for them to get involved:

“My whole persona is reading. When I sit down at night, I literally have to put one next to me as an emotional support book… I leapt at the opportunity to get involved.”
— Reagan, Library Foundation Board Member

“In that moment, I realized what a true treasure the library is. It felt like such an honor to be part of something that serves the public in such a meaningful way and inspired me to step into a greater role through board service.”

— Susan, Library Foundation Board Member

“Giving community access to space and resources—to find a job, study, read, and connect—can only be found in a space like a public library.”
— Coleen, Library Foundation Board Member

There are many ways to be part of what’s growing here.
And it often starts with simply raising your hand.

If you’ve ever thought about getting involved, this is your invitation.

📚 Find Your Joy

From my perch outside the Library, I can feel something different this week.

Not just the season changing…

But people coming together.

Finding moments to connect.
To celebrate.
To be part of something that feels bigger than themselves.

And this week, it feels especially true.

Because it’s National Library Week — a time to recognize the joy, the stories, and the shared experiences that bring a community to life.

Moments like these don’t just happen.

They’re created—together.
