Celebrating Our 2025 Spirit Award Winners

The 2025 Women's History Month theme, “Moving Forward Together! Women Educating & Inspiring Generations,” honors the power of women in education, mentorship, and leadership. The Bettie Brand Mother's Empowerment Fund proudly embodies this theme by uplifting and supporting women who are striving to transform their lives and communities. Through education, perseverance, and service, our awardees exemplify the spirit of moving forward together.

 

2025 Spirit Award Recipients

Thanks to your generous support, Bettie Brand Mothers' Empowerment Fund proudly introduces our five remarkable 2025 awardees, expanding our legacy to 33 empowered women since 2013. Their journeys of perseverance and strength continue to inspire.

  • Nyjah Hunter: A devoted single mother balancing work, school, and parenthood while pursuing a career in massage therapy.
  • Tennille L. Jackson: Transforming her passion for cleaning into an empowering business that uplifts other women.
  • Ashley Johnson: A single veteran mother overcoming homelessness and pursuing her dream of becoming a nurse.
  • Mattie Spencer-Henry: Receiving her second Spirit Award, Mattie is finally achieving her lifelong goal of becoming a nurse after decades of caregiving.
  • Tawana Thompson: Overcoming financial and personal hardships, Tawana is on track to earn her bachelor’s degree in human resource management.
  •  

These five incredible women exemplify the spirit of perseverance, resilience, and determination. The Bettie Brand Spirit Award is honored to support them on their journeys to success. Their stories remind us that with the right support, anything is possible.
