Outreach

Goes Back

to School

Outreach was grateful for the opportunity to participate in the Polk County Middle School Career Fair. Alyssa and Stephen shared information about Outreach’s programs and the impact of nonprofit work with 8th grade students preparing for high school enrollment.

We appreciate the chance to connect with students and share how community service and local organizations shape Polk County.

Meals on Wheels – More Than A Meal

Outreach partners with the Polk County Senior Center also known as “The Meeting Place” & Meals on Wheels (MoW), to provide 150 Meals on Wheels kits each month to homebound seniors across Polk County.

In February, we added a touch of seasonal cheer to each delivery with a handwritten Valentine card. The cards were thoughtfully handmade by the Wednesday Night Montford Cove Baptist Church Youth Group, whose efforts brought an extra layer of connection to every meal.

Through partnerships like these, a warm meal and a handwritten note help remind our senior neighbors that they are seen, valued and supported.

We extend our thanks to the Montford Cove Youth Group and The Meeting Place & MoW for their partnership and for helping make each delivery a little more meaningful.

Outreach Food Pantry Donation List

Thank you to all the local farmers, churches, individuals and organizations who contribute food to our food pantry. We need and value your donations so much. We could not do this without you.

Food Focus:

Cake mix, pancake mix, muffin mix, oatmeal, syrup, canned chicken & tuna, 1lb bags of sugar, soup, oil, mayo & ketchup, chicken breasts, 1lb rolls of ground beef, juice, salad dressing, seasonings, salt & pepper, fresh produce and baby formula.

Non-Food Focus:
Cat and Dog food, paper towels, toilet paper, zip lock bags (all sizes), toothpaste (adult & children), shampoo (adult, children and infant), laundry detergent and dish soap.

It Takes A Village

Thank you Polk County Community Foundation (PCCF),

for including Outreach in celebration of their 50th anniversary, PCCF gifted 50 dogwood trees throughout the community — and Outreach was honored to receive 15 of them.

Their team not only planted the trees in Outreach's Horse Creek Village but also committed to maintaining them for the next two years.

We are grateful for this lasting investment in our space and in the broader Polk County community.

Thank you Holy Cross Episcopal Church,

for bringing their youth group to serve in our Food Pantry. Each quarter, the group purchases and donates food to Outreach before spending time learning about our pantry operations.

After receiving a tour from our Pantry Manager, Cliff, they help receive and stock the very food they brought. We’re thankful for their continued commitment to serving Polk County families.

Thank you Midway Baptist Church,

for supporting Outreach’s Firewood Program. Their donation, chopping, and storage of firewood helps ensure families have access to warmth during the colder months. We’re grateful for their hands-on support.

Thank you Foothills Regional Commission,

for organizing an employee food drive in support of Outreach.

Their team collected and donated food to help strengthen our pantry and support Polk County families.

We’re grateful for their partnership and for employees who chose to give back in a meaningful way.

Thank You Outreach Event Sponsors
