We're Celebrating Our 35th Birthday This Year!
|
We’re celebrating 35 wonderful years of serving Polk County this year and are excited to enjoy 2026 with you! We have activities and events planned throughout this year to commemorate this milestone.
What began as a grassroots effort has grown through the steady partnership of friends, volunteers, donors, churches, businesses and local organizations who have walked alongside us year after year. We look forward to taking a moment to reflect on our history, the people who shaped it and the community that continues to make our work possible.
While we’re grateful for the history that brought us here, we’re just as excited about what’s ahead. Visit www.tboutreach.org and our Facebook page to learn about upcoming events and join us as we celebrate throughout the year.

Horse Creek Village Is Growing
|
We are excited to announce the addition of homes in Horse Creek Village in the 1st quarter of 2026! Both homes are 3 bedroom, 2bathroom houses and are just under 1400 square feet.
A family will be moving into one of these houses in early February, with plans to fill the 2nd home, once completed, later in the month.
With the addition of these houses, there are a total of 10 homes in our neighborhood, with plans to add more later this year.

2026 Backpack Snacks Program Funded by The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina
|
This year, Backpack Snacks is supported by a $25,000 grant from The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina, funded through the Normac Endowment Fund and Yeager-Cole Fund. This funding allows Outreach to continue Backpack Snacks while serving more children each week than in years past.
In 2026, Outreach will continue the Backpack Snacks program for an 18th year, serving 341 students each week across all Polk County schools. The program provides children with food to take home on Fridays, helping ensure consistent access to meals over the weekend.
We are grateful to the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina for their generous support of our Backpack Snacks program. This funding ensures we can continue serving students each week and meet the increased number of students we have seen this school year.

Volunteering Since: 2025
Fun Fact:
Since joining us in June 2025, Kate has made a remarkable impact in our organization. She is always ready to help, whether that means driving to pick up 300 pounds of chicken or beef, lending a hand in our pantry, or supporting our fundraising events.
Kate likes to create arts and crafts with her Cricut Craft machine and brought extra holiday cheer to our lobby by hand-painting a beautiful Christmas sign. Kate truly enjoys being part of this organization and loves staying involved in the community.
