Harvey Fellows Salon with Bridget Kibbey
|
Join us as we hear from Harvey Fellow Bridget Kibbey and learn about her work as an acclaimed harpist. Harvey Fellows Salons showcase the work of Harvey Fellows and their efforts to integrate their faith & vocation. Bridget will share samples of some of her work; our own tiny desk concert for Harvey Fellows. Friday May 29th at 4:30pm Eastern - register here Called the “Yo-Yo Ma of the harp by Vogue Magazine, Bridget Kibbey expands the scope of what the harp accomplishes on stage. A typical season sees Kibbey touring as recitalist and soloist with orchestras across the United States, performing her own astonishing transcriptions of J.S. Bach, to collaborations with Dover Quartet, Avi Avital, Kathleen Battle, and Alexi Kenney, to producing travelogs tracking history through the music. In short, “Kibbey has the world at her fingertips (The Star Tribune).”

On July 12th, 7pm (Eastern) we will gather to over Zoom to discuss Dr. Reena Goldthree's book Democracy's Foot Soldiers: World War I and the Politics of Empire in the Greater Caribbean. I'll send a free book to the first 5 Harvey Fellows who register here. You can also obtain the book at a discount from Princeton University Press using the code: PUP30 - they have both hard copies and e-books. Looking forward to our discussion with Dr. Goldthree!
